A question I’m often asked is: what exactly is Light Language?
And I’ll be honest.
It’s one of the harder things to put into words.
Not because there’s nothing to say, but because so much of it lives in a place that words don’t reach.
Light Language is something you feel more than something you explain.
Still, I’d like to try to give you a sense of it. Enough to understand what it is, and maybe enough to feel drawn to experience it for yourself.
So what is it?
Light Language is an energetic modality with real roots. It comes from the tradition of the Curanderos, the master healers of Mexico, and was carried into the wider world in more recent times, largely through a teacher named Starr Fuentes.
At its heart, it works with two simple things: color, and sacred geometry.
Each shape carries a meaning. Each color carries a meaning too. And when the two are combined, they form a kind of language. Not a language of words, but of form and color, designed to work with the intentions we bring to it.
These combinations are woven together into what’s called a grid. So a grid isn’t a random or purely decorative drawing. It’s built intentionally, from this language of shape and color, and shaped around something specific you’re working with.
In a sense, a grid works a little like our personal boundaries. But instead of the ones we form unconsciously, out of old patterns and beliefs, a grid is one you choose and create on purpose. It’s built to bring energy in, in a way that gives you more choice, and it can be changed to meet whatever you’re moving through in your life.
Grids can be created at different levels of depth. On the Light Language page you can read more about the two kinds I offer, and see an example of what a grid actually looks like.
How it works
It begins with intention.
In Light Language, intention is everything, and there’s a real care taken in how it’s formed.
An intention is stated in the present tense, as though it’s already true. Not “I will find peace,” but “I am at peace.” Because the future is a place that always stays just ahead of us, and the work is meant to live in the present.
It’s stated positively too. Not what you want to be rid of, but what you want to move toward. Not “losing weight,” but “my ideal weight.” Not “quitting” something, but becoming something.
And it’s kept realistic. An intention that’s too extreme, too far from where you are, is one the mind quietly refuses to accept. There’s a wisdom in this. The work isn’t about forcing, or chasing some flawless version of things. It’s about naming something true, and reachable, and letting it be enough.
There’s care, too, in stating what you want, rather than dictating how it should arrive. The “how” is left open, because insisting on it only narrows what’s possible.
Once the intention is clear, it’s given form. The shapes and colors are chosen and woven into a grid built around it. And then, in a sense, the intention is sealed, and released. Set down, and allowed to do its work.
The honest part
I want to be honest with you about what this is, and what it isn’t.
Light Language isn’t a magic wand. A grid isn’t a way to place an order with the universe and wait for it to arrive.
The energetic ideas behind it aren’t things I can prove to you, and I won’t pretend otherwise.
But I’ve never found “do you believe in it?” to be the most interesting question.
The more honest question, to me, is what happens when someone actually engages with it. What moves. What softens. What begins to shift.
Because here is what I can tell you, plainly.
There are things I simply cannot explain in words. This energy is one of them. It’s felt, not argued.
And I feel it strongly. When I work with it, I feel it move in me, clearly and unmistakably.
What I’d love, more than anything, is to make space for you to feel it too.
An invitation
If something in you feels stuck, in one area of your life, or simply a sense that something wants to move and hasn’t yet, this may be worth exploring.
A grid is something I create for you. Personally. Shaped around what you’re moving through, and the intention you’d like to work with.
You don’t have to understand exactly how it works. You don’t have to believe anything in advance. You only have to be curious, and willing to let something gentle begin.
Because sometimes, where life has felt fixed for a long time, all that’s needed is a little movement.
With curiosity and an open heart.
